How to Talk to Your Children about the Hollywood Lifestyle
An Image Consultant, Sandy Dumont, has given her advice to ABCnews for parents who are concerned that their teenagers might begin to idolize the party-hearty lifestyles of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears that is making headlines of tabloids everywhere.
“Whatever you tell a young person to do is going to be the opposite of what they do,” Dumont says. “So, I think parents need to be very subtle in their criticism of Britney.”
One approach she recommends is to pose this question to teens: Would you want your mother to act that way?
I think that rationale works for Britney, but what about the other girls? Neither Paris nor Lindsay have children, and I think teens could use that argument to deflect parental concern.
