Dr. Phil Pulls The Plug On Britney Spears Exclusive…
Even after I bothered to get up from the couch and set the DVR yesterday (Okay, fine, it didn’t actually involve getting up from the couch. That’s what we have remote controls for.), Dr. Phil has pulled the plug on airing his Britney Spears exclusive, originally set for Tuesday, January 8th.
The good Dr. Phil stated that the 26-year-old pop tartlette’s situation was “too intense” for him to go forward with the show. He didn’t say whether he planned to reschedule.
To me, this translates into one of two things: (1) a threatened lawsuit from one of her attorneys. They probably didn’t want any more information about Britney’s meltdown aired to the public, in hopes of an act of God to turn around in her career; or (2) the fact that Dr. Phil has come under fire for visiting Britney uninvited and offering his services (even though he says her family invited him, Britney is an adult and is required by law to make those decisions herself, as long as she is mentally capable. And while “mentally capable” is questionable, in this case she IS).
