Lance Bass came out to Britney Spears before he told many of his other friends that he was gay. How did that happen? Well, because he felt bad for her and everything she was going through at the time. Unfortunately, that was the last time they spoke.

In a Q&A session created by GQ, Lance told the story: “It was the night of her first wedding, actually. I was in Vegas with her, her dancers, her manager, and my boyfriend at the time . . . Her manager had already gotten rid of [her first husband] Jason [Alexander] - they’d flown him home.

“Britney was upset about what she had done. I felt bad for her. I knew she was about to go through a lot of crap; I felt the need to share something.” (more…)

Britney Spears has no one to blame but herself! No big surprise here! Britney Spears was not prepared for her MTV performance. New York Post reports that she even showed up late for her big comeback late, and with a drink in her hand.

On Saturday, the day before the VMAs, Spears was scheduled to arrive at rehearsal at around 1 p.m. A spy said, “She didn’t even get to Las Vegas until 4:30 p.m. It was ridiculous . . . The production people at MTV were freaking out . . . Nobody can tell Britney what to do anymore. No one can control her. She is a mess.�?

To make matters worse, when she arrived in Vegas, Spears didn’t go straight to rehearsals. “She went to her hotel room and ordered a bunch of food and some frozen margaritas,�? the spy said. “She came down, like, an hour later with a frozen margarita in her hand.�?

“The dance number was spectacular - without her,�? said our spy at rehearsal. “When the stand-in was rehearsing with the dancers, in the hours they were all waiting for her, it was amazing. Then Britney showed up and refused to do anything. The dancers were supposed to lift and twirl her in the air a few times, and that just wasn’t going to happen. The more complicated dance moves had to be erased because she couldn’t do them.�?

We already knew that Britney Spears reportedly broke down in tears after her horrid performance at the VMAs. Word is, though, that rather than hide out in her hotel room, she decided to hit the clubs.

And what better way to ensure the attention of the paparazzi than to head out sans underwear. Again. It might just be me, but I’m thinking that the paps must be saying, “Oh. There’s Britney showing her junk again. Nothing new there.” and go about their business of photographing other celebrities. Preferably, those who are clothed. (more…)

In case you didn’t catch Britney’s performance at the 2007 VMAs, I’ve got you covered. (And if you didn’t catch it? You didn’t miss anything. And if you did see it? Tell me: how long were you able to watch before you started groaning in sympathy for Britney? Oh Britney, how far you have fallen. We all had such high hopes.)

There was out-of-synch lip-synching. Lethargic movements that seemed like they were choreographed by a dance instructor for a nursing home. The paunch in place of Britney’s once-taut belly. At times Britney just stopped singing altogether, as if even she knew nothing could save her performance. The camera panned to the audience and showed P. Diddy in complete boredom. Britney is hosting the Grand Opening of LAX club at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas tomorrow night. The last time she hosted a highly-publicized party in Vegas, it was New Year’s Eve and she had to be carried out by her bodyguards.

I’m very curious whether she’ll be taking No Doze to stay awake this time. (She said she “fell asleep” at the last event, but SERIOUSLY: who believes that?)

Britney, as wee as she may be, recently made death threats. Yes, you read that correctly. She threatened to kill two photographers.

Allegedly, Britney threw a baby bottle and then threatened to kill two photographers after they tried to take her pictures when she was leaving from a spa in Las Vegas. Talk about tempermental!

Life&Style Weekly reported that Britney Spears may have hoped for a quiet retreat when she took her two boys, 10-month-old Jayden James, and Sean Preston, 22 months, to the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas for a few days. But now, an insider tells Life & Style, that it sure hasn’t turned out that way!

An insider close to Brit’s estranged hubby Kevin Federline claims that Britney broke her custody agreement with their dad, Kevin, when she took the boys away from LA without written permission.

That was the final straw for Kevin! His lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, ordered Britney on July 26 to bring the children back to Los Angeles immediately.

According to Norm, Britney Spears is set to host the opening of LAX the new nightclub at the Luxor hotel & casino in Las Vegas.

The club’s opening will be the first feature for Britney on the Las Vegas Strip since her infamous bash at Pure last year. I hear rumors that Britney may be preparing a performance for the show, more details soon.

Whats the secret to her seemingly sudden slim-down? “She’s working out, eating right and enjoying life,” says the singer’s rep. (Some published reports also claim Spears underwent a nonsurgical liposuction procedure called LipoDissolve during a recent trip to Las Vegas.)

The mother of two – sons Sean Preston, 19 months, and Jayden James, 7 months – has also been sweating off the pounds with frequent trips to North Hollywood’s Millennium Dance Complex.

“She’s got an amazing metabolism,” owner Robert Baker says. “When she puts her mind to it, she can transform pretty easily.”

The thing I don’t get? Brit was pretty slim BEFORE she went into rehab - check out this pic of her in a bikini the weekend before she entered rehab:

“Extra�? has the all-new reports out of rehab that a lonely Britney Spears is crying herself to sleep at night. Word is that the posh Promises rehab center believes Spears is suffering from post-partum depression. “They’re trying to get her to take anti depressants… but Britney’s being resistant to this,�? revealed OK magazine’s Editorial Manager Katie Caperton. “They’ve also encouraged her to go to family therapy, but Britney does not want to see her mother and father at this time.�?

While Britney Spears remained in rehab, Kevin Federline headed to Las Vegas over the weekend – with the kids. Federline was in town for a long-planned paid appearance at the Mirage Hotel & Casino lounge Revolution. “Kevin was really low key,” one source says. “You could definitely tell he was on his best behavior. He was having a good time, but wasn’t the wild, crazy Kevin who used to come to Vegas.”

He arrived on Saturday with Sean Preston, 18 months, and Jayden James, 6 months, plus a nanny, his mother and brother and two bodyguards, sources say. He had dinner with friends and family at the hotel’s Japonais restaurant, says a source, who adds: “He was late for dinner because he wanted to tuck his kids into bed.” By midnight, he was relaxing at a VIP table at the Revolution with a group of friends who included Las Vegas comedian Jeff Beacher. Spears’s rehab ordeal, says a source, has matured Federline. “He wakes up with a purpose each morning and has enjoyed his family being around him,” says the source. A rep for Federline declined to comment.
