In case you didn’t catch Britney’s performance at the 2007 VMAs, I’ve got you covered. (And if you didn’t catch it? You didn’t miss anything. And if you did see it? Tell me: how long were you able to watch before you started groaning in sympathy for Britney? Oh Britney, how far you have fallen. We all had such high hopes.)

There was out-of-synch lip-synching. Lethargic movements that seemed like they were choreographed by a dance instructor for a nursing home. The paunch in place of Britney’s once-taut belly. At times Britney just stopped singing altogether, as if even she knew nothing could save her performance. The camera panned to the audience and showed P. Diddy in complete boredom. Britney is in Las Vegas, baby, where she shut down The Palms Hotel & Resort to rehearse for the VMAs tonight. MTV published a small snippet, and promised that Britney’s back and ready to reclaim her pop princess title. (more…)

I’d totally be lying if I didn’t admit that by the end of Britney’s new song “Cold As Fire,” I was dancing in my chair. Dancing. In My Chair. It’s true - don’t be shocked, and what’s more, I think this song will be on my iPod playlist soon. If it got me dancing the first time I heard it, it’s bound to be perfect for the gym, don’t you think?

In “Cold as Fire,” Britney practically advertises herself as a sex goddess. It’s got a solid beat, and while some of the lyrics should be considered “adult,” it didn’t stop me from replaying the song again. Well, okay, four times. But don’t tell anyone, promise? (more…)

Britney’s new song, Gimme More, has been heating up the air waves and lurking in all corners of the Internet. You’ve probably heard it, even if you haven’t realized it. And just in case you haven’t realized it, I’m posting it for your convenience. Because I love you. Unless you hate the song, and then I must hate you. You choose.

The song starts with “It’s Britney, bitch.” It’s a little breath-y, has a good club beat, and I have to admit that it’s not completely horrible. It’s not enough to make me buy the CD, either, but whatever. I don’t own any of the others, so I suppose that’s not really a surprise. (more…)

How many cars does this girl have? After spending an evening at the recording studio on Friday night, Britney and a couple of her male backup dancers were pulled over just after midnight for speeding. Sources say Britney was cooperative but flustered (hello, drugs!) and the rest of the way home was driven by one of the guys. (more…)

At first I didn’t think the rumor was true, and then the NY Post ran a report about it, which made me re-think my stance on rumors. Maybe there’s something to them, afterall.

You see, word is out that Jive, Britney Spears’ record label, had a big comeback planned for Britney. They had coordinated with Sexyback singer JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, and Britney’s hot ex that she never should have let go in the first place, as well as producer TIMBALAND to record a song with Britney. It would be a duet for JT and Brit, a song that Justin had supposedly written for Britney. And Britney backed out. (more…)

So. We all know Kevin Federline can’t rap. KEVIN knows he can’t rap. (Why else would he try to get so much money from Britney? He knows he doesn’t have the skillz to make it himself!) But this must make him feel really low.

Another wannabe has started rapping, one that we might hate MORE than we hate Kevin Federline. (Well, more than we hated Kevin before Britney started acting all crazy. Now we kinda like him. Now we kinda think he’s the sane one of the ex-couple. But remember how much you USED to hate Kevin? Back when he was that greasy guy who kept screwing up Britney’s career? Back when he was that guy who wore SOCKS with FLIP-FLOPS? Thank goodness he’s over that phase and has moved on in our hearts. Just in time for someone else to replace him.)

I’m talking about Spencer Pratt, folks. Spencer Pratt of MTV’s hit reality show The Hills (it’s okay to admit that you watch it, I do too, and I think that it’s delicious). Wait! Don’t run away! I know that we all hate Spencer. He’s an ass, there’s no other way to say it, it’s just that plain and simple and OBVIOUS. Except to Heidi Montag, his fiancee, though I’m hoping that by the end of the season she’ll realize it, too. I think she actually does realize it, but maybe she is contractually obligated to keep dating him or something. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself, BECAUSE HOW COULD SHE NOT KNOW THAT HE’S A JERK?

Ahem. Anyway. Heidi is trying to start a singing career, she says she’s “a performer” (like Britney Spears? Eeeek! We all know where THAT leads), and she’s got a track out. And on this track, Spencer Pratt is rapping.

Now, before you break down into hysterical fits of laughter, I think you should listen to the duo because they’re actually GOOD. And I hate to admit that, because as much as I don’t want to like Heidi, and as much as I want to HATE Spencer, I was kind of surprised that I wasn’t picking my eardrums out of my skull with a fork by the time the song was over.

Britney Spears’ cousin and former assistant is trying to become the next pop starlet. She has updated her website with a bio, new pic and a song. The song is a live recording from “Les Miserables.â€?

Her bio and says that singing and music have been a huge part of her life since age 4, but the rest is just a bunch of fluff about where she went to school and where she has lived, blah blah blah. She’s cute enough, I suppose, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her as an opening act for Britney in the future.

CNN News just came out with following recap of a recent photo shoot and interview with Britney Spears. The interview below was given by OK! Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Sarah Ivens:

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Ivens told The Associated Press in a phone interview Wednesday. “It’s definitely the most bizarre shoot I’ve ever been on.”

Representatives for Spears had offered an exclusive interview that was intended as career comeback for the 25-year-old pop singer, Ivens said.

“What actually transpired on the day was a shock to us and left me and the whole crew feeling quite shocked and sad, really,” she said.

During the shoot, Spears wiped grease on a designer dress, treating it like “a napkin,” said Ivens, and sat back and watched as her Yorkshire terrier puppy defecated on a $6,700 designer gown.

“I wasn’t in the room but I was there to hear the upset shrieks of the stylist,” Ivens said. “Her assistant dealt with it in the end, after being asked to take care of it. They had to be asked to clear it up.”

Spears took frequent trips to the bathroom — leaving the door open — and complained that the high-end clothing put together for the July 19 shoot wasn’t sexy, short or tight enough, the magazine said.

After about three hours, Spears bolted before the shoot was over, walking away with more than $14,000 of borrowed apparel, Ivens said.

OK! publicist Brian Strong said the magazine didn’t publish the photos in its latest issue because they “weren’t up to standard.”

A representative at Jive Records, Spears’ record label, didn’t immediately return a phone call and e-mail seeking comment Wednesday.

“She needs to have a really strong team to advise her what to do, what not to do,” Ivens said. “And then, if she gets that, I’m sure she can pull it around. It’s all there. She’s got talent. She just needs to get her priorities straight, I think.”

After a day of frolicking at Malibu beach in just her underwear, Britney Spears has started work on her first music video in almost two years.

True to form, when she stepped out of an LA warehouse between takes, there was again no shortage of skin on display - her tiny black dress barely covered herself. IOL reported that Pink has refused to write a song for troubled chart rival Britney Spears because she’s an “entertainer� instead of a “real singer�.

The outspoken pop star would prefer to pen material for artists like Amy Winehouse, whose brash attitude can do justice to her tracks.

She says: “Not because I don’t like (Spears) - I do think she’s crazy enough to do one of my songs.

But it’s very hard for me to let go of my songs and the only people I write for are real singers - not that she’s not a real singer, but she’s more of an entertainer.

“When I mean real singers, I mean the likes of Lauryn Hill, Faith Hill - and I’d write for Amy Winehouse, because you need serious attitude to carry off the dumb stuff I write about.�

When reports began surfacing that Britney had asked her fans to name her new album, I rushed to her official site to see if it was true. Except it wasn’t posted, which made me skeptical. [Editor's Note: Brit's official site has now been updated.]

Then I received an email (I am, afterall, part of her fan club. The free part of her fan club, because why would I pay money? Also, the fan club tips me off to news about her, and for the sake of this site, I need more news about her. Sort of.) with this graphic, asking members of her fan club to vote:

According to the National Enquirer, as Idol producers are looking to improve ratings, there is a possibility that Paula and Randy will get the boot while Britney make her way in…

Here’s hush-hush from the Top Dawgs at “American Idol� - a major house-cleaning triggered by sinking ratings means Randy Jackson’s out as a judge next season, Dawg… and so is ding-dong wack-a-doodle Paula Abdul! “Ratings this year were the lowest in two years - one week, even ‘House’ beat it,� said a show insider. “The belief is that things have gotten stale, and ‘American Idol’ is now ‘American Idle.’ They really want to mix things up, create a whole new set, institute format changes - and get rid of Paula and Randy, replacing them with younger faces.�

Warning: Put on your dark glasses before reading this blinding lash, Idol fans - at the top of Fox’s wish list is… Britney Spears!

According to the tabloid, the two (Randy and Paula) both have 3 year contracts signed in 2006 and which will have to be broken for that to happen.

Britney’s former loverboy, Justin Timberlake, has just announced that he will be starting his own record label. The new label, a joint venture with Interscope Records will be called Tennman Records. Justin will serve as Chairman and CEO of the label, with Ken Komisar, former Sony BMG vice-president, appointed as president of Tennman. The label will be based in Los Angeles and distributed worldwide by Interscope Geffen A&M. Signings to the label will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are all excited about the talent we have to offer already on our roster and I cannot wait to introduce the world to my new discoveries,” said Timberlake.

You gotta hand it to JT, he is a successful class act. After he and Britney split, his track-record has included platinum albums, acting in movies, former flame Cameron Diaz, current flame Jessica Biel and now a record label? All without managing to royally screw something up. What can’t this guy do?

TMZ reported that Britney Spears got panned for the quasi-concert she just gave in Miami this weekend, and her harshest critic was none other than Madonna’s brother.

Christopher Ciccone sniffed to a Page Six source that Her Madgesty, his sister, “would never go onstage looking like that.� That, of course, was a tramp-ish get-up including white go-go boots and those ever-problematic hair extensions. Page Six adds that the Miami crowd — full of gay men and trannies – “sneered� at Brit’s look.

Of course, as People reports, it’s not for lack of trying — or shopping — that Britney’s looking so rough on stage. The mag reports that “not ten minutes� after arriving at her hotel, she and pals stopped at stores all over South Beach, even fitting in a little spending — while fans waited to get into the club.
