Is Britney Spears dating her drug counselor?

The 25-year-old rehabbed star insists that her relationship with John Sundahl is purely professional — but her soon-to-be-ex-hubby, Kevin Federline, insists they’re dating. Britney’s mom, Lynn, is thrilled the two are supposedly seeing each other, according to the National Enquirer.

“John’s smitten with Britney,�? a source described as “close to the new couple�? told the tab. “I’ve never seen him act so ridiculous with a girl. He’s so in love with her that he’s risking his career just to keep her happy.�?

I’m thinking that if Brit is dating him, maybe he can help her clean up her act!

A “hurt and angry” Britney Spears is reportedly writing a tell-all book about her exes, Kevin Federline and Justin Timberlake.

A source says Justin, in particular, “will be pissed” when he hears about the yet to be published autobiography.

“Britney blames most of her problems with drugs and alcohol on the heartache she experienced years before, during her time with Justin - she couldn’t trust him … She believes he constantly lied to her about other girls and that destroyed her self-esteem … She also felt he became mean toward the end of their relationship, she said he called her fat and told her she’d need to lose weight before he would have sex with her.”

“Stage mum” Lynne won’t get off lightly either.

“She’ll say Lynne’s money hungry and that she was just along for the free ride. Britney thinks of her as a meddling, smothering person and blames her for her messy marriages.”

Yahoo! News reported this morning that Britney Spears has left Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility. After behaving like a rehab yo-yo, Britney checked into Promises for the third and final time on February 22, 2007. She spent nearly a month at the facility and checked out on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 after “successfully completing their program,” Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, said in a statement released by Jive Records late Tuesday.

Yesterday TMZ reported that Britney has made one of the most amazing turnarounds in celebrity memory.

Sources say Britney and soon-to-be ex Kevin Federline had an “amazing meeting�? on Sunday. They are not only getting along, they are hammering out the terms of custody. We’re told when Britney gets out, she and Kevin have agreed to a 50/50 split with physical custody of their two children. The plan is for Britney to eventually gain primary custody and Kevin will have visitation.

Jamie Lynn, Britney’s sister, and Brit’s mom, Lynne, have been at Kevin’s house helping with the kids while Britney has been getting her own help in rehab. And that help is working. We’re told she has literally turned her life around.

Word is that the posh Promises rehab center believes Spears is suffering from post-partum depression. “They’re trying to get her to take anti depressants… but Britney’s being resistant to this,�? revealed OK magazine’s Editorial Manager Katie Caperton. “They’ve also encouraged her to go to family therapy, but Britney does not want to see her mother and father at this time.�?

X17Online reports Lynne Spears went to visit baby Sean and baby Jayden today at Kevin Federline’s house. Rumors had the two conspiring to get the kids away from Britney and to get Brit back into rehab and given the current state of affairs, I’m starting to believe that theory. Momma Spears arrived at Kevin’s around 1:30 p.m. yesterday and is still at the house.

Yahoo! News reported that an appearance in family court sought by Kevin Federline amid a child custody dispute with
Britney Spears was canceled Thursday as reports surfaced that the pop star was back in rehab.

Spears returned to the Promises Malibu Treatment Center late Wednesday, according to reports from TMZ.com, “The Insider” and “Extra.” Her mother, Lynne Spears, drove her daughter to the center, “Extra” and “The Insider” said.

MSNBC reports that the in-and-out-of-rehab saga that has been dogging Britney Spears the past week is moving to a new venue: family law court.

Spears’ estranged husband, Kevin Federline, and his lawyer were scheduled to appear Thursday at an emergency hearing in family law court, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini said. It was not known what issue the 28-year-old aspiring rapper planned to raise, though the former couple are in a custody dispute over their two children.

“Our best information is he will be here; she won’t,�? Parachini said. “But anything is possible.�? (Britney will not be at the court meeting because Britney has checked back in to rehab.)

Us Magazine.com has learned that as Britney Spears continues to unravel in public, Kevin Federline has been working behind the scenes to take custody of their children away from the erratic pop star.

A source tells Us that Federline, 28, and his mother, along with the help of Spears’ mother Lynne, have joined forces to aid Federline while he has cared for his sons — Sean Preston, 17 months, and Jayden James, 5 months — during their mother’s recent rehab stints, partying and hotel stays.

“He is beyond sad,�? says a Federline pal. “This is the worst week of his entire life. He doesn’t even want to pick up the phone. Things are beyond not well with Britney, and he still loves her.�?

Federline reportedly is now taking legal steps to protect his children. TMZ is reporting that Federline has requested an emergency custody hearing Thursday before an L.A. judge (Spears had been granted physical custody of the kids at an earlier hearing). Federline’s rep couldn’t be reached for comment, but Us has confirmed that a custody hearing has been set for Thursday.

According to our Federline insider, K-Fed made a call to his mother, Julie Bleak, on Valentine’s Day asking for her to help him take care of the children. Bleak flew to L.A. on Feb. 15 (the same day Spears, 25, checked into the Crossroads Centre rehab facility in Antigua). Our source adds that Lynne Spears has also been present for her grandchildren, taking care of the children round-the-clock with Federline.

“Britney’s family feels that Kevin has been a blessing and they are very impressed with Kevin taking so much responsibility,�? says a Spears family source. “Britney’s family found out from the news this morning that Britney had left the rehab. Britney has not asked to see the kids because she knows she is not well and she does not want to scare Preston. She has no credit cards or cash. She is basically on the run at the moment.�?

Last week Britney was spotted poolside at the Mondrian, which is nothing abnormal, until you consider what one source says about that odd, odd day for Britney:

Sources tell the UK’s Daily Mail newspaper that Spears arrived at the Mondrian hotel around 1 p.m. on Sunday, where she tried to book a room. But hotel staff denied the singer’s request because she wasn’t carrying cash or credit cards, just a scrap of paper with a partial credit card number on it.

A witness tells the Mail, “She kept saying: ‘Nobody wants me anymore.’”

According to reports, a couple of tourists recognized the singer and took pity on her, taking her back to their hotel room before leading her to the gift shop to buy her a bathing suit.

“But bizarrely she then went to the pool and tried to shave her legs,” a source tells the paper. “She also went to the hotel restaurant Asia of Cuba for a rest on a chair.”

Spears then tried again to book a room and a rental car, but when staff refused, she left the hotel alone around 4 p.m., reports the Mail.

Sources also tell the newspaper that Spears’s lost weekend came on the heels of an intervention staged by her mother, Lynn, who threatened to take the singer’s children from her if she didn’t enter rehab.
