Britney Needs A Break

Friday, November 30th, 2007

brit-needs-break.jpg

TMZ was in a Van Nuys courtroom yesterday as Britney Spears‘ attorney, Michael Flanagan, asked that her driving without a valid license case be continued until January 2.

As TMZ first reported in October, the L.A. City Attorney wants to place Britney on 12 months of probation for driving without a valid license. If they do, and she picks up another citation or happens to run over a photographer’s foot, that could constitute a probation violation and she could end up in jail just like Paris. (more…)

Pieces of Me Video

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

pieces-of-me.jpg

While lawyers were in two L.A. courthouses yesterday, Monday, arguing over her various driving violations and custody issues, Britney Spears spent her time readying for her next musical move: a new video.

Usmagazine.com has learned that production on the video for her single “Piece of Me? was scheduled to begin this morning at 8 a.m. at Social Hollywood. A source tells Us that the video will be directed by Wayne Isham, who helmed the video for the 2002 Brit hit, “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.?

A set source tells Us that since Spears, 25, has a scheduled visit with sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, on Tuesday, she will only be available to film for two hours, between noon and 2 p.m. During that time she will shoot scenes where she dances on a bar and runs down a staircase. There will be 15 extras, as well as a body double for Brit. (more…)

Britney Must Respond To Drug Test Requests In One Hour

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

spears_federline180.jpg

Britney Spears’ lawyer told the Commissioner in the custody case that he just doesn’t understand what it takes to be a pop star.

K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, went to court to argue that Brit’s visitation should be modified because she’s violating the order requiring her to respond to the drug-testing people within an hour of the time they call.

High-powered lawyer Anne Kiley, who represents Britney, told the judge her client has received calls as early as 8:00 AM. Kiley said pop stars don’t get up that early, adding, “You are not a pop star with a number one album, so you don’t know.? The courtroom erupted in laughter. (more…)

Britney Runs Red Light with Sleeping Sons in the Car

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

01.jpg

Britney Spears blew a red light at a notoriously dangerous intersection last night, with her kids in the back and a court-appointed monitor crouched down in the front. Paging K-Fed’s attorney!

The Popwreck approached the light slowly on Coldwater Canyon. You then see Britney raise her cellphone to her face. It is unclear if she’s texting or making a call. She then drives into the intersection as someone outside the car screams, “Red light, red light!? Britney then turns left onto Mulholland Drive, managing to miss oncoming traffic. (more…)

Judge Orders Britney To Pay Kevin’s Attorney’s Fees

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

britney-spears.JPG

It seems like a no-brainer that Britney should have to pay Kevin’s court costs, or at least some of them, since she earns roughly $737,000 each month and Kevin only earns…nothing. Or so he claims. (more…)

Britney’s Spending Habits

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

spears_federline180.jpg

More court documents in the ongoing custody battle between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were released Thursday, which revealed some intimate details about their finances.

• Federline, earned more than a half million dollars in 2006, mainly from entertainment and endorsement deals – but minus business expenses, he only grossed $7,436 that year.

• Spears earns approximately $737,000 per month.

• Federline receives $15,000 a month in child support payments from his ex. (The amount may change, depending on how much more custodial time he ends up getting.) He is entitled to child support payments until Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, become adults, since Spears is the higher earner.

• The documents also reveal that Federline earned $3,300 in royalties in 2006 for his debut song “Popozao.?

Court Ruling: Partial Custody Awarded to Britney

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

britney_seanpreston.jpg

Commissioner Scott Gordon has given Spears two visits per week, from 12 noon to 7 PM and one overnight visit. The visits will be monitored.

Spears and K-Fed are ordered to figure out holiday schedules with the kids.

Britney must submit evidence that she child-proofed her pool area by Friday.

In his order, the Commissioner wrote that when Britney has the kids, “the environment at the house ranged from chaotic to almost somber with little communication at all.? The Commissioner also recounts what the parenting coach complained of — that “during all three of my visits Ms. Spears rarely engaged with the children in either conversation or play.? (more…)

Britney Spears In New Cocaine Controversy

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

brit.jpgBritney Spears invited a man to snort cocaine off her chest during a wild party at her Hollywood mansion just two days after losing visitation rights to see her sons, it has been reported. Scott Kohler, 29, claims he and a group of 10 other strangers were invited to join Spears for a night of heavy partying on October 19, when the troubled star drowned her sorrows with vodka and cavorted with the men in her jacuzzi. Britney’s Attending Parenting Classes

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

brit-parenting_class.jpg

Britney Spears arrived at the Beverly Hills Hotel Wednesday for her first Parenting Without Conflict session.

“She’s not nervous, she’s actually looking forward to it,” says a source close to the former princess of pop.

Britney’s ex-husband, Kevin Federline, was reportedly at the hotel as well, which totally makes since because the court ordered them both to take the class. And I doubt the court is about to conduct the class twice, just so they don’t have to see each other. I mean, right? They see each other all the time anyway, what with them having CHILDREN together and everything, so seeing each other in a classroom really isn’t that big of a deal. Or is it? (more…)

Britney’s Visitation Rights SUSPENDED

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

britney-whiteruffles.jpg

Y’all. Us Weekly is reporting that Britney’s visitation with her children has been suspended for violating the judge’s Order somehow. It is not known how Britney has violated the Order, though I have a guess. (See below!)

The order suspending her visitation came a day after Kevin Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, called for an hour-long, ex-parte hearing in Kevin and Britney’s ongoing custody battle.

Britney is due BACK in court on Friday, October 26th. (more…)

Britney’s Label Sues Perez Hilton

Monday, October 15th, 2007

perezhilton.jpg

Oh Perez, when will you learn? Don’t you know that celebrities are serious about protecting their work?

It’s true: Perez Hilton is facing yet another lawsuit, and this one comes courtesy of Britney Spears’ record label Zomba, which accuses Perez of illegally obtaining and uploading on his gossip site at least 10 completed songs and several incomplete demos from her new CD “Blackout.”

Zomba is suing for copyright infringement, but no word on how much money they are asking for. (more…)

Britney’s Whirlwind Court Appearance: Overnight Visists Allowed

Friday, October 12th, 2007

britney-court-appearance.jpg

Yesterday was a whirlwind for Britney, and I’m going to attempt to sum it all up here, nice and pretty:

  • As she headed into court, Britney said, “I’m doing good.” For court, Britney was dressed in blue jeans, a long black sweater and aviator sunglasses. She sipped from a Coca-Cola can as she approached the courtroom. An attorney took it from her and placed it on a bench as she entered.
  • As Britney was sworn in, she allegedly played nervously with her jeans pocket. I’m not sure if this was rehearsed or not, but I think her nervousness, coupled with her reported “soft and respectful” voice, played to her advantage. It’s becoming obvious that Britney understands the seriousness of these court hearings and this custody battle.

Blackout

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Y’all. I have some big news. Big news about Britney. And her career. And her music. Can you guess what it is?

britney-cd-01.JPG

Yes, it has something to do with her long awaited upcoming album, Blackout.

(What? You didn’t know it had been titled? Because it has been. According to Britney’s label, Jive Records, the title of the album “refers to blocking out negativity and embracing life fully” — and here I was, thinking it had to do with a drug overdose. Because if the former was the case, wouldn’t it be called “Block out”? Am I being too logical here?) (more…)

Paris Sends Edible Flowers To Britney

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

gift-basket-tulip-sunset-2.jpgParis Hilton, former party pal of Britney Spears, apparently feels bad for Britney and her custody situation (if you remember, Paris used to LOVE hanging out with Brit’s kiddos). In fact, Paris feels so bad for Britney that she ordered a bouquet of chocolate flowers to be delivered to Britney’s house to try and “cheer her up?.

I don’t know about you, but chocolate flowers always do the trick for me. Forget about a personal visit or phone call from a friend who cares. (more…)
