Britney Re-Hires Former Manager

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

britney40108.jpg

Britney Spears has apparently reunited with her old manager, Larry Rudolph! Jamie Spears has been helping turn Britney’s life around, and if the latest rumors are true, this is another big step in the right direction. Larry, who is credited with discovering Brit, first parted ways with her when she married Kevin, only to reunite when they divorced. Most recently, she fired Larry last April after he played a part in sending her to rehab. It’s unknown how long he has been back working with her now.

Jamie Spears always supported Larry’s decision to send Britney to rehab, so it’s not surprising that he reached out to her old manager to help get Britney’s career back on track. Larry has been a huge part of Britney’s professional life, so hopefully this is a sign of more good things to come.

Britney Spears with her manager, Larry Rudolph

Hollywood.com reported that Britney Spears is facing legal action after reportedly sacking her long-term manager Larry Rudolph last Friday.

The singer was last week said to be “miffed? at Rudolph for forcing her to seek professional help for her troubles, which resulted in Spears checking into a rehabilitation clinic in California in February.

The 25-year-old was also seen mocking her manager’s decision to send her to rehab in a bizarre video rant which was posted on the Internet over the weekend.

But now Spears could end up in court for reneging on the deal she had previously signed with Rudolph, according to PageSix.

The pop star’s P.R. aide Leslie Sloane Zelnik was unaware of Rudolph’s status when contacted early this morning.

Britney’s Bizarre Video Rant

Monday, April 16th, 2007

britney1234.jpgHollywood.com reported that Britney Spears has recorded a bizarre video message seemingly supporting her management’s decision to force her into rehab.

The singer, who completed a month-long stint at a California rehabilitation clinic in March, stopped photographers following her in Los Angeles to record the incoherent piece.

Spears, 25, said, “I just want to say that I’m just really, really shocked at, like, how nice our world is because it is just so nice.

“Like, oh my god. Like the other day, like, I was sitting there and I saw all these magazines and they said I was pregnant and, like, it’s so true.

“It was so right and, like, my management totally knew what they were doing when they sent me to rehab. So right you know??

The incident follows reports earlier this week that Spears is fed up with her longtime manager Larry Rudolph.

Does Britney Hate Her Manager?

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

brit-hates-manager.jpgRumor is that Britney Spears has been telling friends that she “hates? Larry Rudolph and never intended to sign with him again after leaving his orbit in October 2004. However, after her separation from Kevin Federline, Rudolph stepped in and got Britney to sign with him again.

“She signed a five year contract with him,? says a source. “She says she didn’t know what she was doing at the time, and can’t stand him. But what can she do? Bring in a lawyer and say she signed under duress? That she was drunk or stoned??

If Britney is unhappy with Rudolph, it’s likely that she can’t do much about it, especially with that contract. But after her divorce, all her rehab expenses and her constant nights on the town at pricey L.A. restaurants Spears had better get back to work. And just an album won’t cut it. She’s got to figure out a way to tour. It’s the only way left to make money.

BRITNEY HAS LEFT REHAB!

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

britney-pink.jpgYahoo! News reported this morning that Britney Spears has left Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility. After behaving like a rehab yo-yo, Britney checked into Promises for the third and final time on February 22, 2007. She spent nearly a month at the facility and checked out on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 after “successfully completing their program,” Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, said in a statement released by Jive Records late Tuesday.

Yesterday TMZ reported that Britney has made one of the most amazing turnarounds in celebrity memory.

Sources say Britney and soon-to-be ex Kevin Federline had an “amazing meeting? on Sunday. They are not only getting along, they are hammering out the terms of custody. We’re told when Britney gets out, she and Kevin have agreed to a 50/50 split with physical custody of their two children. The plan is for Britney to eventually gain primary custody and Kevin will have visitation.

Jamie Lynn, Britney’s sister, and Brit’s mom, Lynne, have been at Kevin’s house helping with the kids while Britney has been getting her own help in rehab. And that help is working. We’re told she has literally turned her life around.

britney-new-site.jpg

While we’ve all been awaiting the new tiger-themed redesign of Britney’s site, it looks like the site is finally getting the overhaul it deserves.

It seems as though Brit and her management want to remind us of the good ol’ days, and have ditched the wild, tempstress look of the tiger theme for a more sultry, vintage page featuring an old-school pic of Brit lounging about, back in the day when she was on top of her game.

The site is still in the works, and offers fans the option to shop, subscribe to her mailing list, and more.

K-Fed Still Moving Forward With Emergency Court Meeting, Britney Back in Rehab

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

MSNBC reports that the in-and-out-of-rehab saga that has been dogging Britney Spears the past week is moving to a new venue: family law court.

Spears’ estranged husband, Kevin Federline, and his lawyer were scheduled to appear Thursday at an emergency hearing in family law court, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini said. It was not known what issue the 28-year-old aspiring rapper planned to raise, though the former couple are in a custody dispute over their two children.

“Our best information is he will be here; she won’t,? Parachini said. “But anything is possible.? (Britney will not be at the court meeting because Britney has checked back in to rehab.)

K-Fed goes to court to get custody

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

kfed1.jpgYahoo! News reported this morning that as Britney Spears was reportedly checking out of rehab for the second time in a week Wednesday, her estranged husband was making plans to go to court amid a custody dispute over their two children.

Kevin Federline and his lawyer were scheduled to appear at a downtown courthouse Thursday for an emergency hearing in family law court, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told The Associated Press. It was not known what issue Federline planned to raise.

“Our best information is he will be here; she won’t,” Parachini said. “But anything is possible.”

It was not known what Federline intended to ask the court. He sought support and sole custody of Jayden James, 5 months, and Sean Preston, 17 months, after Spears moved to end their two-year marriage in November, but a temporary order issued Feb. 1 granted joint custody through this month.

Britney Has Entered Rehab, The Joke Is Over

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

brit-wig2.jpg

Yahoo! News reports - Britney Spears has been ridiculed for everything from her 55-hour first marriage to backup-dancer second husband and her recent pantyless partying escapades. Now that she’s entered rehab, though, the joke is over.

This is a new frontier — even for Spears, whose well-documented gaffes and personal traumas have played out in excruciatingly public fashion, including photos published of Spears driving with her son Sean Preston on her lap and another time almost dropping him.

Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, told People magazine’s Web site on Tuesday that Spears had voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed treatment facility.

“We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time,? Rudolph was quoted as saying. He didn’t disclose why she entered rehab.

The 25-year-old pop star has been seen wearing skimpy outfits and partying heavily since filing for divorce from Kevin Federline in November, after two years of marriage.

On Friday night, Spears, the mother of two young sons, shaved her head bald. But that didn’t send her into hiding as she was later seen wearing an inexpensive blond wig.

“You know, for these celebrities, it’s really tough,? New York-based psychiatrist Gail Saltz told The Associated Press. “They have no idea if anybody likes them for them. … Everybody wants a piece. Everybody wants to make something off of her, get somewhere by her.?

Spears’ very public divorce isn’t helping matters, said Saltz, who also suggested that Spears could be suffering from postpartum depression.

Federline’s attorney had earlier confirmed that Spears and Federline would continue to share custody of 5-month-old Jayden James and 17-month-old Sean Preston this month, following terms of a January custody agreement.

“I’m a good father,? Federline has said. “I love my kids and I’ll always be here for (them).?

The Web site TMZ.com said Spears had entered an inpatient facility in Los Angeles after family members pressed her to check in.

Spears representatives didn’t return calls from The Associated Press.

Entertainment TV shows and Web sites reported Friday that Spears had gone in and out of rehab that week.

“I think that she’s finally listening to the people that are closest to her, and I think that she’s probably going to stay in rehab for as long as it takes,? Ruben Garay, who runs ThatOtherBlog, told the AP.

“You understand that this whole thing with shaving her head was kind of like the last straw, and that was really what led everyone (who) was already concerned about her (to) become, like, really concerned about her,? said Garay, who recently closed his Spears’ fan Web site, worldofbritney.com.

“She is a child star unraveling and is the perfect example of when a child star evolves into an adult and doesn’t have someone telling them what to do, or giving them the right affirmative advice, and the right support,? said Ian Drew, editor at large at Us Weekly magazine. “She basically started out very young in a competitive business.?

Spears grabbed an electric shaver at a San Fernando Valley salon and shaved her head bald Friday night. Video on KABC-TV showed a newly shorn Spears with tiny tattoos on the back of her neck as she sat for a new tattoo — a pair of red-and-pink lips on her wrist.

Esther’s Haircutting Studio, where Spears shaved her head, set up a Web site to auction off her hair and other items for a minimum price of $1 million, said J.T. Tognozzi, who owns the salon with his wife.

“This is it, the opportunity of a lifetime,? according to BuyBritneysHair.com. The winning bidder gets Spears’ dark, knotty hair extensions, the clipper she used to cut them off, the Red Bull she drank at the salon and her cigarette lighter.

“This girl is out of control,? Joy Behar, a co-host on ABC’s “The View,? said Monday. “And, she’s in a lot of trouble. A lot of people feel this is self-mutilation.?

Craig Ferguson, host of CBS’ “The Late Late Show,? said that after seeing photos of Spears’ shaved head, he reconsidered making jokes at the expense of the “vulnerable.?

“For me, comedy should have a certain amount of joy in it,? he told viewers Monday. “It should be about attacking the powerful — the politicians, the Trumps, the blowhards — going after them. We shouldn’t be attacking the vulnerable.?
