Britney Spears Watch

In Connecticut on Saturday, Britney was performing “Womanizer” when a fan rushed the stage at the Mohegan Sun Arena during the Encore. He apparently climbed over the security barriers and then jumped on stage with her. A couple of videos have made it to youtube - the second one showing a clear look at Britney’s face as she screams for him to get out! The closest dancers grabbed/escorted him off the stage while a shaken Britney finished the encore.

The fan, 22 year old Kyle King, was arrested outside for “breach of peace” and also charged with interfering with police when he refused to co-operate. It was reported that he was definitely drinking. He was released the next morning after paying a $250 bond - he’s due in court on June 18th.

Scary! I don’t blame Britney at all for being frightened, though it is a tiny bit funny to see her scream but not to hear anything at all, when we’ve heard about the random statements she yells at times (Merry Christmas being one, and Rock out with our Cock out making me giggle with glee…). Guess the Mic wasn’t hot - and probably a good thing considering that CT apparently breeds crazy ass fans.

Briefly, in other news, the restraining order against Adnan and crew has been extended for three years. Unsurprisingly, he plans to appeal. Some guys just can’t take a damn hint, can they?

Last night, Madonna made a surprise appearance at Britney Spears’ Circus show in New York City at the Nassau coliseum. Madonna didn’t hop on stage with her, but she made sure several saw her walk to the VIP suites with her manager Guy Oseary. Apparently you don’t have to use the main stairs to get to the suite, but you know Madonna - it’s go big or go home, and she certainly wasn’t going home!

Madonna watched the entire show, though she chose to slip out during the Womanizer Encore to avoid the crowds. Britney’s bitches (What? that’s what they call themselves!) left a note on the official site, saying that Brit “was thrilled to have her there!”

Her next show is in New Jersey on Friday.

Today’s the day! Our girl turns 27, and the much anticipated album is officially released! Not only that, but the documentary for MtV, Britney: For the Record had outstanding ratings, as millions tuned in to get a glimpse of the popstar up close and personal. I watched, and was startled by two things - I don’t think I’ve listened to her talk that long in quite some time, and I was stunned by her accent. I don’t know, I guess I just never really thought about her being quite so southern. Heh. And two - there’s something in her eyes, a sadness, something that just hasn’t quite been shaken yet. Perhaps it’s simply a knowing, and a promise that she’s getting better, or maybe it’s a harbinger of troubles yet to come. Worrisome, but hopefully she’s in good hands.

Either way, after record breaking ratings in London for the X-Factor, Britney arrived at Good Morning America this morning for her birthday party and Circus celibration, fittingly in a rooftop BigTop! She performed the single, Circus, as well as Womanizer, while Dad, Mom and the boys Jayden and Sean watched proudly from the stands.

Not only that, but at the tail end of her interview, Britney announced - officially! - that she WILL be going on tour, staring in MARCH! Opening for her will be the Pussycat Dolls! Naturally, Alaska isn’t on the tour date list, but no one ever braves the cold to come here. Heh. For those of you in the states though - the list of tourdates is after the cut!

Britney’s tagline of her latest song, Gimme More, is starting to make more and more sense to me. At first I thought that Britney was just introducing herself at the beginning of the song. But she wasn’t: she was prophesizing about herself. She wasn’t just saying, “I’m here to rock this song.” Rather, she was proclaiming, “I’m here to rock this industry.”

Britney Spears has no one to blame but herself! No big surprise here! Britney Spears was not prepared for her MTV performance. New York Post reports that she even showed up late for her big comeback late, and with a drink in her hand.

On Saturday, the day before the VMAs, Spears was scheduled to arrive at rehearsal at around 1 p.m. A spy said, “She didn’t even get to Las Vegas until 4:30 p.m. It was ridiculous . . . The production people at MTV were freaking out . . . Nobody can tell Britney what to do anymore. No one can control her. She is a mess.�?

To make matters worse, when she arrived in Vegas, Spears didn’t go straight to rehearsals. “She went to her hotel room and ordered a bunch of food and some frozen margaritas,�? the spy said. “She came down, like, an hour later with a frozen margarita in her hand.�?

“The dance number was spectacular - without her,�? said our spy at rehearsal. “When the stand-in was rehearsing with the dancers, in the hours they were all waiting for her, it was amazing. Then Britney showed up and refused to do anything. The dancers were supposed to lift and twirl her in the air a few times, and that just wasn’t going to happen. The more complicated dance moves had to be erased because she couldn’t do them.�?

We already knew that Britney Spears reportedly broke down in tears after her horrid performance at the VMAs. Word is, though, that rather than hide out in her hotel room, she decided to hit the clubs.

And what better way to ensure the attention of the paparazzi than to head out sans underwear. Again. It might just be me, but I’m thinking that the paps must be saying, “Oh. There’s Britney showing her junk again. Nothing new there.” and go about their business of photographing other celebrities. Preferably, those who are clothed. (more…)

In case you didn’t catch Britney’s performance at the 2007 VMAs, I’ve got you covered. (And if you didn’t catch it? You didn’t miss anything. And if you did see it? Tell me: how long were you able to watch before you started groaning in sympathy for Britney? Oh Britney, how far you have fallen. We all had such high hopes.)

There was out-of-synch lip-synching. Lethargic movements that seemed like they were choreographed by a dance instructor for a nursing home. The paunch in place of Britney’s once-taut belly. At times Britney just stopped singing altogether, as if even she knew nothing could save her performance. The camera panned to the audience and showed P. Diddy in complete boredom. I’d totally be lying if I didn’t admit that by the end of Britney’s new song “Cold As Fire,” I was dancing in my chair. Dancing. In My Chair. It’s true - don’t be shocked, and what’s more, I think this song will be on my iPod playlist soon. If it got me dancing the first time I heard it, it’s bound to be perfect for the gym, don’t you think?

In “Cold as Fire,” Britney practically advertises herself as a sex goddess. It’s got a solid beat, and while some of the lyrics should be considered “adult,” it didn’t stop me from replaying the song again. Well, okay, four times. But don’t tell anyone, promise? (more…)

Britney’s new song, Gimme More, has been heating up the air waves and lurking in all corners of the Internet. You’ve probably heard it, even if you haven’t realized it. And just in case you haven’t realized it, I’m posting it for your convenience. Because I love you. Unless you hate the song, and then I must hate you. You choose.

The song starts with “It’s Britney, bitch.” It’s a little breath-y, has a good club beat, and I have to admit that it’s not completely horrible. It’s not enough to make me buy the CD, either, but whatever. I don’t own any of the others, so I suppose that’s not really a surprise. (more…)

At first I didn’t think the rumor was true, and then the NY Post ran a report about it, which made me re-think my stance on rumors. Maybe there’s something to them, afterall.

You see, word is out that Jive, Britney Spears’ record label, had a big comeback planned for Britney. They had coordinated with Sexyback singer JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, and Britney’s hot ex that she never should have let go in the first place, as well as producer TIMBALAND to record a song with Britney. It would be a duet for JT and Brit, a song that Justin had supposedly written for Britney. And Britney backed out. (more…)

So. We all know Kevin Federline can’t rap. KEVIN knows he can’t rap. (Why else would he try to get so much money from Britney? He knows he doesn’t have the skillz to make it himself!) But this must make him feel really low.

Another wannabe has started rapping, one that we might hate MORE than we hate Kevin Federline. (Well, more than we hated Kevin before Britney started acting all crazy. Now we kinda like him. Now we kinda think he’s the sane one of the ex-couple. But remember how much you USED to hate Kevin? Back when he was that greasy guy who kept screwing up Britney’s career? Back when he was that guy who wore SOCKS with FLIP-FLOPS? Thank goodness he’s over that phase and has moved on in our hearts. Just in time for someone else to replace him.)

I’m talking about Spencer Pratt, folks. Spencer Pratt of MTV’s hit reality show The Hills (it’s okay to admit that you watch it, I do too, and I think that it’s delicious). Wait! Don’t run away! I know that we all hate Spencer. He’s an ass, there’s no other way to say it, it’s just that plain and simple and OBVIOUS. Except to Heidi Montag, his fiancee, though I’m hoping that by the end of the season she’ll realize it, too. I think she actually does realize it, but maybe she is contractually obligated to keep dating him or something. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself, BECAUSE HOW COULD SHE NOT KNOW THAT HE’S A JERK?

Ahem. Anyway. Heidi is trying to start a singing career, she says she’s “a performer” (like Britney Spears? Eeeek! We all know where THAT leads), and she’s got a track out. And on this track, Spencer Pratt is rapping.

Now, before you break down into hysterical fits of laughter, I think you should listen to the duo because they’re actually GOOD. And I hate to admit that, because as much as I don’t want to like Heidi, and as much as I want to HATE Spencer, I was kind of surprised that I wasn’t picking my eardrums out of my skull with a fork by the time the song was over.

IOL reported that Pink has refused to write a song for troubled chart rival Britney Spears because she’s an “entertainer�? instead of a “real singer�?.

The outspoken pop star would prefer to pen material for artists like Amy Winehouse, whose brash attitude can do justice to her tracks.

She says: “Not because I don’t like (Spears) - I do think she’s crazy enough to do one of my songs.

But it’s very hard for me to let go of my songs and the only people I write for are real singers - not that she’s not a real singer, but she’s more of an entertainer.

“When I mean real singers, I mean the likes of Lauryn Hill, Faith Hill - and I’d write for Amy Winehouse, because you need serious attitude to carry off the dumb stuff I write about.�?
