Not for the money!

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

Osama Lutfi is not happy with reports that the lawsuit he filed was done in order to get some cash to pay off his debts. Reports say that he’s facing foreclosure on his home, running up more then 18,000 in debt, just before filing the lawsuit against Britney and her parents for defamation and damages.

His lawyer, of course, denies it. Bryan Freedman says that it wasn’t filed to make money -which boggles the mind a little it because why else would one sue? Freedman said that the homeowners association simply misplaced Lutfi’s checks, and that it is all “nonsense!” and that it’s “just more lies and misrepresentation about a guy who is a great caring human being.”

All together now… awwwwwwww!

As Britney gets back behind the wheel, continues to prepare for the Circus Tour, AND rehires her previous manager, the drama with her ex-bad influences just doesn’t stop. Ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib apparently attempted to run over a man on Monday who was trying to serve him with court papers. The process server ended up on the hood of the car, then fell off when Ghalib drove away, ending up with scratches and bruises according to Lt. Brian Whitten. There as a report filed for assault with a deadly weapon but Whitten said that he isn’t liable for arrest just yet. “we first need to get his side of he story.”

aimg_1273__optSpeaking of crazies in Britney’s life - guess who was on the practice set in order to film his part in the opening video of the Circus Tour? None other then Perez Hilton himself!

Jamie King, the choreographer and director gave him a call and Perez spend the day on set, even getting to se a bit of the rehearsals, which he described as “sensory overload and amazing! The show is not only in the round, but there are three circus rings with action going on in all of them - dancers, acrobats, aerialists and more. It’s Major!”

Who knew we’d ever be jealous of Perez?!?

Off again, on again!

2-2_britThe rumor mills have gone WILD over the past couple days, declaring that the Circus Tour hung in the balance, that the whole thing might be called off due to an issue over whether the kids could come along with Mama as she performs around the nation or not. Rumor had it that K-Fed, Britney and Papa Spears had gotten together and were hashing out a deal what would allow Sean and Jayden to join Britney on tour, so that she would not miss out on seeing them for the entire time. It was reported that there would be three houses set up as ‘base camp’ - one in LA, New Orleans and New Jersey, and that there would be traveling between them so that the boys wouldn’t have to move around so much. Then there was the $4000 a week that would be paid to KFed in addition to his regular alimony for going along with the deal along with separate housing secured for her baby daddy.

So where was the reported problem? Well, it seems that KFed and Papa Spears forgot to let KFed’s lawyers in on the deal. Whoops! Since they weren’t a part of the decision, they were upset and I dunno, maybe thought Kevin was being taken advantage of, or something. Either way, they apparently got it worked out, as though Britney’s insiders said the Tour hung on this balance - if the kids couldn’t come she’d cancel the whole thing - now it has been reported that it’s all a go. The boys will be there, KFed is up for it all, and the Circus Tents will rise!

Whew.

Radio stations say Play On!

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

SPL62574_001The other day we mentioned that some stations were getting a little gun shy about playing the new single, If You Seek Amy, due to the naughty insinuations of the title and lyrics. The label even changed the name to “if you see amy” on some of them to slip it through, though now it seems it wasn’t really necessary.

The Radio Stations are playing it anyway - and ignoring the boycott called by the Parents Television Council, who said it violated broadcast indecency laws if aired between 6am and 10pm.

It only took 6 radio stations to play the track before it entered he Billboard Pop 100 chart, and as of yesterday the single had already recorded digital sales of 107,000!

The song is undeniably catchy - check it out!

~~~
In other news - our girl Brit joins Robert Pattinson as they were voted the most attractive woman and man of 2008 by Hello Magazine. She beat out Angelina Jolie, Delta Goodrem, Shakira and Liv Tyler!
Oooh, NAUGHTY Britney!
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009
Some people just don’t have a sense of humor! As much as the title of the newest single to be released, If You Seek Amy, tickles my funny bone and makes me giggle at random times, it seems some radio stations are not so amused. While Britney was probably hoping for a controversy-free year, she starts off 2009 with a bang, by deciding the third single would be If You Seek Amy.
(insert giggle here)
The Sun is mighty pleased with themselves for having figured out what the line actually means within the song, as though the rest of us hadn’t figured it out yet. They report that many of the US radio stations have threatened to ban the single from the airwaves because of the title. So what’s Britney’s camp decided to do about it? They refused to rerecord it to make it more PG, and instead dropped the “K” so it now is titled “If You See Amy”. The poor Sun writer is in a tizzy. “…the track now makes no sense whatsoever.”
Breathe, dude, breathe. The song still says the same thing, it just reads slightly differently. Anything to get the song on the air - as we all know, Sex and Controversy sells!
Speaking of sales - if you go to the Elizabeth Arden website and order Britney’s fragrance, “Believe” you’ll receive a very cute, very pink little clutch! The bottle is green and very cute, while the fragrance is described as “Sensual and warm. Delicate and feminine. A sparkling blend of exotic fruits, soft florals and seductive amber.”
All that and a free gift? Score!
Looking good!
Friday, January 16th, 2009
Britney’s been rehearsing hard, and thanks to the official site, britneyspears.com, we get to see just how toned and fit she’s looking! Her abs have been the object of many a case of jealousy (or is that just me?) and she’s showing it off even in the middle of the workouts.
The tour looms ever closer, and while some worry that she’s not ready, the photos and information we’ve seen point to the opposite. She looks good, sounds good, and with every promo performance, she improved, getting her feet under her and her moves down. By the time opening night rolls around on March 3, I think “Circus, starting Britney Spears” 2009 tour will be AMAZING!
It’s hard to believe that 10 years ago this week, Brit’s debut album, Hit Me Baby one More Time was released! Man, I feel old…
We know the next single is If You Seek Amy, which means we’ve got a new video to look forward too as well! Think you have better ideas then we’ve seen so far? A concept that will make the new video ROCK? Over at the official site, Brit’s Babes are taking storyboard submissions, and they’ll post the best of the best there for all of us to enjoy! So grab you’re pencils, pens, paper, and all those ideas, pop the single into the ipod on repeat, and show them what you’ve got!
The fan videos and cover art and photos that they post are some of the best out there - Britney’s fans are certainly a talented bunch!
New digs!
Thursday, January 15th, 2009
Britney has been looking for a new place, a new start, to go with the newest comeback, and it seems she’s finally decided on a place. It was reported over the past week that Britney has decided to rent “Chateau Suenos” in Calabasas, while she has another one built in the same area. Britney announced on her twitter account that ““I just took my babies to our new home and they loved it! I can’t wait to move in.” There’s been no ‘official’ announcement, but the ever present paparazzi followed her to the quaint little place on the left.
In other news, the team at britneyspears.com officially announced Team Circus - the talent that has joined them to help get the tour ready to go before it’s March start! Included on the team is:
Jamie King, Tour Director: Jamie worked with Britney efore as director for her “Oops, I did it Again” tour in 2000, and the Stronger” music video - he’s also behind the infamous Britney/Madonna/Christina kiss performance at the 2003 MTV Awards. He also directed five Madonna tours, including “Sticky and Sweet.”
Simon Ellis, Musical Director: Among others, Simon directed the Spice Girls, including their 2008 reunion tour, which was described as “genius”!
JaQuel Knight, Contributing Choreographer. JaQuel’s latest claim to fame is choreographing Beyonce’s Single Ladies music video. All together now - if you LIKED it then you shoulda put a RING on it….
Tony Testa, contributing choreographer. Tony worked with Britney on the Circus promo tour in Japan, which went over fabulously! He’s also worked with Beyonce, Janet Jackson and Danity Kane.
Dreya Weber: Aerial Choreographer. Dreya has choreographed the arial swing trio for Madona’s Re-Invention tour, as well as worked with pink and Cher.
Sounds like an awesome lineup to me! This tour is gonna be HOT!
Britney’s next Single!
Friday, January 9th, 2009
Hi ya’ll! My buddy Danny decided to stop by and do another guest post for us! How lucky are we? He’s like THE BIGGEST Britney fan that ever lived! Not only that, but he’s planning on hitting up the local stop for the upcoming Circus Tour and will be doing a review of the show for us too! I can’t wait! So here’s Danny!
~~~

Hello everyone, Danny here - coming in for a guest post on my favorite Britney Spears fansite. Not much has been happening in “Britney Land” over the holidays. She got a chance to spend the time with her kids that she’s been wanting, and got to see Mama and Papa Spears too. I’m sure that she enjoyed the holidays this year, not nearly as much drama - I’m sure.

In other news, Britney is getting nice and thin, in shape, toned, taned and sexed up for her new music video/single… IF U SEEK AMY! Whoo! I know you have to be as excited as I am. As I stated in my review way back in December, If U Seek Amy has a dirty, sexy, fun undertone to it.

If U Seek Amy = F*U*C*KME or Fuck Me.

Yeah, I know. I’m anxious to see what the FCC or the MPA or whatever you want to call them these days has to say about THAT. Huh? Britney will win. Britney always wins.

Anyways, the last update BSW has is envolving Britney’s “Circus” Tour. Britney’s Reps tell us that she’s getting ready, rehearsing and all that good stuff. Which is really good, because I’m most likely going to see her in March!

Whoo. Enjoy your evening folks!

Britney on Ellen and in Japan

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Before Britney headed off to Japan to continue her promotional tour for Circus she stopped by the set of Ellen for a little tomfoolery and Christmas Cheer. And Vandalism - because without it, it just wouldn’t be Ellen! After showing little hints about the fun all week, today was the day for the whole segment to appear on Ellen’s show - in case you missed it (and heck, it hasn’t even AIRED here yet, ya’ll! Doesn’t start for another 10 minutes!), folks have it on youtube already. Check it out!

Looks like they had fun - though the poor neighbors weren’t to sure what to think, hm? Could they have picked any quieter calmer neighbors?! I’m sorry, if Ellen and/or Britney showed up at MY door? I’d be a LEETLE more excited. Just sayin’! Then again, in Alaska, it’s not quite so common place, right? Right.

While in Japan, Britney has gone out to Sushi, loved the little cars, and of course, performed her Womanizer routine on the popular Hey, Hey, Hey. She’s getting her groove back, that’s for sure - this was the best, more relaxed performance of Womanizer yet! Her tour is bound to be terrific, she’s looking good, and seems to be feeling good too. (and I’m sure my buddy Danny will be thrilled to write a review for us since he’s going to see her in Florida!)

In other news - Hollywood Rag is reporting that sources say Kevin wants to give it another shot with our golden girl. According to what a ’source’ told Britain’s Look magazine, Kevin has been staying over with her a lot and expects them to fall back into the old relationship easily.

Not so sure this source can be credited as knowing wtf they’re talking about, hm?

The Circus Top is Rising!

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

..and rising and rising and rising! Britney’s brand spanking new album, Circus, is number one! According to the Billboard 200, Circus sold over half a million copies in the first week, giving her the second biggest female debut of the year. Bigger then Madonna, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, and even Beyonce! Manager, Larry Rudolph has been all about, gushing over the success, declaring Britney America’s pop princess and that this success just confirms that. He added that Professionally, Britney is feeling great - I just hope they’re watching out for her personally too.

By the way - Blackout” is back on the Billboard charts too at #198!

Of course, with every success, someone has to try and drag our girl down, and it’s no surprise that it’s PETA - they’ve declared her use of Elephants on her tour is unethical. Naturally. The owners of the animals, “Have Trunk Will Travel” have snapped back right away, insisting all the animals were treated very well. Kari Johnson, owner and trainer, said “The American Humane Association monitors animal action in film and television. A representative was on the set of Britney Spears Circs Video with our elephants Tai and Kitty to ensure their safety and well fare.”

Britney isn’t concentrating on that though - choosing instead to concentrate on her upcoming tour - which is adding dates every day. The Sun got a sneak peak, and it looks to be a fantastic show! The concert will be a three act bonanza that will cover Britney’s rise to fame, fall, and recovery. The first act has her miserable and running away to join the circus, with her meltdown the second act, and a finale act that focuses on her salvation - prying herself from the circus to be reunited with friends and family - she’ll emerge at the end of a rainbow after an indoor thunderstorm!

It’s THE can’t miss show of the year!

Britney is thankful to all her fans - and tells us so below. Enjoy!

Britney was seen in LAX today, where she met her dad and is headed overseas for some more Circus Promotion. Along with being number one here - it’s also number one in Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Brazil and Taiwan! The single is number 3, and rising - while Shattered Glass is already at #70 on the Billboard Hot 100, and If U Seek Amy is #86.

You go girl!

The CIRCUS Video!

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Catchy, ain’t it? Hard to get it out of your head once it’s there.

I woke up singing along, so figured I’d best get this up here for you all, hm?

Join me and my Ear Worm!

Britney’s intro at the Rockerfeller Center in NYC:

Here’s a video of Britney on stage for the lighting of the LA Christmas tree, too!

Britney’s Bewbs are party girls too!

Friday, December 5th, 2008

After the smashing success of her appearance on Good Morning America, Britney - and her boobs - celebrated her birthday at the trendy Tejune night club in style! We know it was stylish, as Project Runway’s Heidi Klum showed up, and quite possibly told her that her bewbs were either in, or they were out. (Yes, I know, I’d be a SMASH at these parties, wouldn’t I?) Rumor has it that Heidi asked Britney to be a guest judge on the upcoming season, wherever and whenever it may air. Score!

After the GMA Performance boy bander and Star Dancer, Lance Bass had nothing but praise for the popstar. He told People that this will be “the biggest comeback of all time!” and that Britney is doing an amazing job and he’s proud of her. Awww.

Lance isn’t the only one talking to People, either. Baby-daddy, Kevin Federline opened up recently about his relationship with Britney, and their boys. He remembers the first time he met Briney, and how they hit it off right away, and the day of their wedding was the happiest moment of his life. As for what went wrong, he focused so much on their children, and it was simply hard. She filed for divorce and blindsided him, but he wants everyone to know tht he fought for his kids, not for money. The kids are the most important thing to him, and he’s pleased that things are finally getting better. “There’s nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do.”

On her birthday, Britney also taped a segment for Wednesday’s Tree lighting ceremony in New York City, spent the next day showering her boys with love at famed FAO Shwartz, and most recently was seen lighting up LA last night, as well. She took part in the Light of the Angels Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at the LA Live entertainment complex and with a flip of the candy cane swich, joined the Mayor and councilwoman in turning on the lights. It’s been a big week for our girl!

Circus Review - pt 3!

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Hey ya’ll! Since I can do the snarky comments without thinking, and post pictures galore, I thought it’d be nice for you all to hear a review from someone who simply ‘gets’ music - unlike my “yeah, I like it.” type of comments! So, here’s my buddy Danny, who’s going to walk you through the album that he adores! Enjoy as we continue song by song…

BLUR - Blur is another off the road of Circus Clowns song, and unfortunately shows “bleeping” at it’s worst. You see, in the beginning of the song, Britney states “turn the lights out, the shit is way to fucking bright.” Only problem is - It’s like scratched out, in a twisted, obnoxious way. Why? Who knows, because she’s certainly said worse things. ANYWAYS, the song is pretty good lyric-wise, but the beat of the song has a sort of annoying undertone that I can’t get over. Blur mainly focuses on Britney’s ‘blurry’ days over the past few years. “Where the hell am I? Who are you? What’d we do last night?” and “Everything is still a blur” are just a few lines from the blurry eighth track.

MMM PAPI - Mmm Papi is certainly a clown’s song, and fits the theme of the album most perfectly. It’s a completely orginal song for Britney, and sounds nothing like her previous work. Mmm Papi has a mexican-festive type beat to it, with a high-pictched Britney screaming “Ooh Papi love you, Ooh Papi love you” and “Ooh lovey, Ooh lovey, Ooh PAPI!” Consider this the clowns-on-stilts part of the circus.

MANNEQUIN - Another of my personal favorites - the tenth track of the album - It’s got a dancy beat, with a high-powered Britney mega-voice. This song is another jab at the Paparazzi, with the main line being “My face like a Mannequin”, although other’s would disagree. The lyrical content is not 100% in it, like the rest of the album. But it’s certainly another great listen.

LACE AND LEATHER - Now that we are nearing the end of circus, Britney feels the need to walk the rope, above alligators in sexy black boots and lace and leather. Oh yeah, it’s that sexy. This song reminds me of a really dirty dance club, with go-go dancers and strippers. Yum! With a rhythimatic, dancy and overall studded diamond beat and the powerful sexy lyrics to match, this song is one of the best.

MY BABY - The actual end of the original album, My Baby is a slow, beautiful song obviously dedicated to Britney’s babies. “Cuz’ without you, how did I get through? All of my days, without you” and “See everything’s true, my baby it’s you, my baby, my baby, my baby.” My Baby is the true feelings, dedication and emotions that Britney feels for her two boys, and it shows. Her voice comes across strong, powerful and filled with love. My Baby is the song in the credits of the circus.

BONUS // ROCK ME IN - Rock Me In is a bonus song on one of the versions of Circus. As a single, this song is amazing. It’s got a fast, fast beat to it and some great lyrics to match.

Thank you Danny! You rock! As does Britney, of course! What are ya’ll waiting for? Go get the album TODAY!

Circus Review - pt 2!

OUT FROM UNDER - Out From Under is a slower show. The clowns have to catch their breath you know ! This song has a deep connection to Britney’s past few troubled years, with lines like “I don’t wanna feel the pain” and “I don’t want to dream about, all the things that never were.” Gearing towards the end of the album, Britney cheers up a little bit, stating “We’ve tried everything we could try, so let’s just say goodbye.” (Evidentally, another K-Fed jab)

KILL THE LIGHTS - Back to the fast-paced, kick-ass songs. In the beginning of Kill The Lights, Britney claims Madonna’s title of Queen of Pop. “You don’t like me, I don’t like you - it don’t matter” is only the beginning. This song is a complete jab at those dirty photographers that wouldn’t leave her alone! It’s a nice work-up of pop, jabs and sexy dancing though. Lights! Camera! Action!

SHATTERED GLASS - Shattered Glass hits somewhere in the middle of dancy and slowy. Is that even a word? Anyways, it’s another song about a broken relationship. This is the one theme that is a little overplayed throughout the album. But it’s still a great song! Britney questions the mystery man about whether he feels guilty about what he did, etc… Then proceeds to state “you can’t come back, because all we had is broken, like shattered glass.” and “your world falls apart, like shattered glass.”

IF U SEEK AMY - This is another one of my personal favorites - which requires a lengthy discussion. First, let’s talk about the meaning of the song. Say If U Seek Amy 5 times fast. *pauses, waits, twittles* FUCK ME. Haha! That’s right, Britney has originally made a Disney-friendly way to gloat that everyone wants to fuck her. Now, the song is simply amazing. The tempo and beats are 100% original and unique. “Oh baby, baby.. have you seen Amy tonight? Is she in the bathroom, is she smoking up outside” opens the song, which again is personally related to Britney. The song really gets interesting when the chorus hits, with the simple line of “All of the boys and all of the girls are BEGGING to (FUCK ME) if you seek Amy”. It’s simply mind-shattering once you figure it out right? Right?

UNUSUAL YOU - “Nothing about you is typical, nothing about predictable… You got me all twisted and confused” opens the seventh song from the album. This song touches on the love-factor again - but in an unexpected way. It has an angelic tone to it, not to fast - but not to slow. Not spectacular, but not horrible either. The lyrics are deep and meaningful, which is what we’re all after anyways, right?

Circus Review - pt 1!

Enjoy!

Welcome to the show everyone! Britney Spears has had an amazing day, with record breaking sales on her latest album, entitled “Circus”. This is Britney’s seventh album, the forthcoming of last years “Blackout”.

Circus contains many potential hits and suggests that it will have a significant shelf life. Since I’m SUCH a huge fan, and a great friend of Lessa’s (gotta love the benefits ), she’s so graciously let me a write a review of the album, which I have had for weeks and am totally stoked about. I haven’t STOPPED listening too it! So let’s go with the review for now, and we’ll dicuss the options after…

CIRCUS:

WOMANIZER - Womanizer is an up-tempo, top-40 smashing song. It’s a nice intro to the album, but doesn’t really go with the “circus theme” that the rest of the album has. Womanizer is more or less the opening act, and not to be confused with the actual show. Many have noted that this song certainly is about Justin Timberlake or K. Fed, and with good reason - “Boy don’t try to front, I know just what you are.”

CIRCUS - Circus is the opening act, of the main show. The song is 100% amazing - certainly one of the best of the album. It’s a sexy, no-holds-barred dance song. “I’m like a firecracker, I make it hot // When I crack that whip, everybody gonna trip ” and other lyrics suggest that Britney is in control - which is certainly the case here. This will be the second single from the album and should certainly stick at #1 for quite some time.

Happy Birthday, Britney!

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Today’s the day! Our girl turns 27, and the much anticipated album is officially released! Not only that, but the documentary for MtV, Britney: For the Record had outstanding ratings, as millions tuned in to get a glimpse of the popstar up close and personal. I watched, and was startled by two things - I don’t think I’ve listened to her talk that long in quite some time, and I was stunned by her accent. I don’t know, I guess I just never really thought about her being quite so southern. Heh. And two - there’s something in her eyes, a sadness, something that just hasn’t quite been shaken yet. Perhaps it’s simply a knowing, and a promise that she’s getting better, or maybe it’s a harbinger of troubles yet to come. Worrisome, but hopefully she’s in good hands.

Either way, after record breaking ratings in London for the X-Factor, Britney arrived at Good Morning America this morning for her birthday party and Circus celibration, fittingly in a rooftop BigTop! She performed the single, Circus, as well as Womanizer, while Dad, Mom and the boys Jayden and Sean watched proudly from the stands.

Check her out!

Not only that, but at the tail end of her interview, Britney announced - officially! - that she WILL be going on tour, staring in MARCH! Opening for her will be the Pussycat Dolls! Naturally, Alaska isn’t on the tour date list, but no one ever braves the cold to come here. Heh. For those of you in the states though - the list of tourdates is after the cut!
