Britney’s Whirlwind Court Appearance: Overnight Visists Allowed
by

Yesterday was a whirlwind for Britney, and I’m going to attempt to sum it all up here, nice and pretty:
- As she headed into court, Britney said, “I’m doing good.” For court, Britney was dressed in blue jeans, a long black sweater and aviator sunglasses. She sipped from a Coca-Cola can as she approached the courtroom. An attorney took it from her and placed it on a bench as she entered.
- As Britney was sworn in, she allegedly played nervously with her jeans pocket. I’m not sure if this was rehearsed or not, but I think her nervousness, coupled with her reported “soft and respectful” voice, played to her advantage. It’s becoming obvious that Britney understands the seriousness of these court hearings and this custody battle.
- At first I thought that Britney was going through attorneys like she goes through a bag of Cheetos, meaning: she has a new attorney again, Anne Kiley. But then after a little research, I discovered that Ms. Kiley is a partner of Trope and Trope. Last week, Sorrell Trope (of the firm Trope and Trope) represented Britney in custody court, so it’s not so much that Britney has new representation as it is she has new counsel appointed from within the same firm. This isn’t really that big of a deal.
- Allan Parachini, Superior Court spokesman, announced that Britney’s limited visitation order had been modified to permit her children to have one overnight visit a week with their mother. The overnight visit will be monitored, though a court-appointed monitor has not yet been made. Though Britney requested it, the court will not allow her mother, Lynne Spears, to act as the court-appointed monitor. The court commissioner, Scott Gordon, reiterated that he was concerned for the welfare of the children in Britney’s care, considering her “habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol.” Britney’s random drug tests thus far have come back negative, but the commissioner isn’t buying it. In court yesterday, he said: “If she could remedy all of [her] problems … in one week, that would be a miracle.”
- This is the part of the hearing that I thought was most interesting: The court commissioner, Scott Gordon, allowed Britney to keep her dark aviator sunglasses on, telling her, “I understand you have a medical condition.” The condition was not disclosed.
The speculation on this “condition” may now begin.

I heard that britney had pinkeye and she didnt want the pops getting pis of her eye. I understand this if that was the reason i wouldnt want pics of my swollen, crusty, pink eye taken for my own album let alone plastered all over the world and every tabloid. I hope that she feels better and realizes just how much of a precious gift her babies are!

Hmmm… very interesting. Pink eye? Black eye? Conjuctivitis? Ran out of eyeliner?

I’m going for pinkeye, too. Could be a stye, but pinkeye is a better bet. But here’s the bigger question: If Britney really understands how serious all of this is, why on earth did she allow another pic of her “vertical smile” to get taken by the paps two days ago? Surely her mother or sister could have reminded her to put on underpants if she’s that forgetful.
In any event, her new album is sensational. I listened to the advance today and really like it a lot. Especially the ballads, which I wasn’t looking forward to. So even if she doesn’t get the kids back, she’ll have the number one album world wide. That’s a consolation, anyway :-s

I don’t get it. What is wrong with this woman? Why can’t she just let go of all else and just be a mom? Would someone she loves PLEASE explain to her that when she decided to have children she gave up her right to party and get into trouble? I am certain this gal has it in her to be a really great mom. But she doesn’t seem to have any inclination to prove it, not even to herself. It makes me sick and I pray for her children.
