Britney Spears Gives Her Two Toddlers To Kevin Federline

Well, Britney, I’m not sure I would have taken the same approach as you did when handing over my children. I mean, yes, I’m sure it’s not the last time you’ll see them. And yes, you’d be wise to hire help to get you on the straight-and-narrow (think: attorney, stylist, manager). But did you have to be so unemotional about the whole ordeal? THESE ARE YOUR CHILDREN. IT’S NOT JUST A QUICK HANDOVER TO KEVIN.
UsMagazine.com reported yesterday that Britney Spears isn’t letting the court’s ruling get in the way of her beauty regime. Which, sure, she shouldn’t let herself go. But maybe she could act a little more reserved, a little more sullen, a little more like a PARENT WHO’S LOSING HER CHILDREN TO SOMEONE WHO WEARS TALL ATHLETIC SOCKS WITH HIS FLIP FLOPS.
Usmagazine.com has learned that the 25-year-old singer dropped off sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, with ex-husband Kevin Federline’s bodyguard a little after noon yesterday, then drove straight to Epitome, her favorite Bel Air tanning salon. (Prior to her tan-therapy, Britney took her toddlers to Carl’s Jr. for a quick lunch.)
Sources say that Britney acted completely without emotion during yesterday afternoon’s exchange of the kids, which I think is kind of bizarre. Is it because she thinks it will be temporary? Is it because she realizes Kevin would be a better parent for the two?
And what is Kevin getting out of this deal? Will his spousal support from Britney still end in November, or has it been extended? Certainly the judge would have ordered Britney to pay both spousal support AND child support to Kevin while the children are in his care. I’m curious to know how much she’s forking over. Maybe her life will get back on track without the added responsibility of children to care for.

I’ve been thinking about this, and think she is so calm because she doesn’t think Kevin is really going to get sole custody permanently. She probably thinks the judge will give her the kids back at today’s hearing, or after she completes the orders he set out for her, so she didn’t stress about it. I don’t know that I think that, myself, but that’s probably how her mind is working. Denial is a powerful defense mechanism.
