Britney Opening the VMAs
The rumors are true: Britney is opening for MTV’s main event, the VMAs. She’ll be performing her new song, Gimme More, which comes from her highly anticipated new album (due November 13, 2007).
Jes’ prediction: The performance will start with Britney hidden behind smoke (or something), announcing over the loud speaker, “It’s Britney, bitches.” Then she’ll emerge, dance around, sing some, a few people will cheer, most people will stare at her in confusion, because: just what did Britney have to do (or how much did she have to pay) to get this coveted spot? Do you KNOW how many artists wanted to be the opening act?
Anyway, according to reports, fans who want more of the pop princess can download two ringtones immediately after Britney’s performance. The ringtones are available exclusively through MTV Mobile, who have rights to sell them for two days before any other service. The tones — one for Gimme More and the other featuring Britney cooing the “It’s Britney, bitch? catch phrase from Gimme More’s intro — are available for fans who text “Gimme? or “Brit? to 33633. MTV Mobile also will carry a live simulcast of the show, a first ever for an awards show.
For more about Spears at the VMAs, MTV.com will have exclusive details about her performance, as well as a look back at her history at the VMAs (read: kissing Madonna.)

How about I add to your prediction - she’ll be lipsyncing. But her songs have so much studio alteration and electronic effects anyways I don’t know how she could NOT not lipsync.
