Blackout
Y’all. I have some big news. Big news about Britney. And her career. And her music. Can you guess what it is?
Yes, it has something to do with her long awaited upcoming album, Blackout.
(What? You didn’t know it had been titled? Because it has been. According to Britney’s label, Jive Records, the title of the album “refers to blocking out negativity and embracing life fully” — and here I was, thinking it had to do with a drug overdose. Because if the former was the case, wouldn’t it be called “Block out”? Am I being too logical here?)
Apparently “Blackout” will be hitting stores earlier than predicted - originally it was slated for November 12th, and then it was rumored to be pushed back to 2008, and rumors are swirling that the album will be in stores on October 29th.
The Sun reports:
“The demand for Britney’s new album has taken everyone by surprise. People are desperate to get their hands on it. Executives at the label decided to give people what they want, so they opted to get it on the shelves as soon as they possibly could.”
Personally, I think the album release is a sort of damage control dreamt up by Britney’s attorney and Britney’s record label to detract from her recent custody battles with former hubby Kevin Federline. But that’s just my opinion.
I mean, are people really THAT desperate? Who are these people? Don’t they know that half the album has been leaked? All you have to do is visit YouTube.com and search for Britney Spears songs. Am I making this too simple?

I knew about the album title and what it referred to, but I thought it more aptly referred to the actual blackout she had while filming some of the videos for the albums songs, and when she woke up they showed her what she’d done (ie pole dancing really badly). But it was just too late so she titled the album “blackout” as a kind of excuse…
Well it’s just as good a reason for the name as what she said

Do people actually *pay* for Britney’s music???? I thought we all just downloaded at Limewire. I have enough new Britney songs now to make my own Blackout album, and Gimme More is really the only one I like so far. Maybe the actual album will have some great new songs. Then I’ll download that, too…but I won’t burn it.

You’re so funny! I saw a clip of the “Gimme More” video on tv yesterday. When I streamed it from your website it was blurry and choppy which I naturally attributed to the fact that I was viewing it online. Well, it actually is supposed to look that way! It seems that they really are trying to distract us from something… Bad dance moves? Bad costumes? Bad acting? Which really is too bad b/c in a video you should be able to make someone look great with retakes and lighting and makeup. Oh, why must I hate? I really feel sorry for her and want her to do well she just keeps disappointing.
